Revelation Chapter 12 — For Children and the Child Within
John looked up into the sky…
and saw something amazing, like a picture painted in the stars.
A beautiful woman appeared—
clothed with the sun,
with the moon under her feet,
and a crown of twelve stars on her head.
She was glowing, like the dawn,
and her heart was full of Light.
But she was crying out—
because she was about to give birth
to something holy and new.
Then John saw another sign…
A great red dragon appeared—
huge and fierce,
with seven heads and ten horns,
and a long tail that swept stars from the sky.
The dragon stood in front of the woman,
ready to stop the child from being born.
But he could not.
The woman gave birth to a shining child—
a little one who would bring peace and truth to the world.
This child would grow to be a great shepherd,
who would lead all people with gentleness and strength.
Before the dragon could hurt him,
the child was carried away to God’s throne,
safe in Heaven’s arms.
And the woman ran to a safe place in the wilderness,
a secret garden prepared just for her—
where she would be cared for,
and nourished with love,
for a very special time.
Then a great battle broke out in the sky.
Michael, the angel of Light,
and his shining warriors
fought the dragon and his dark ones.
The dragon fought hard,
but he could not win.
He was thrown down from Heaven—
along with all who followed him—
down to the earth.
Then a voice like music rang through Heaven:
“Now the Light has won!
The kingdom of God is here!
The accuser is cast out,
and the children of the Lamb
have overcome him—
with their love,
their truth,
and their courage.”
The dragon was angry
and tried to chase the woman again.
But the woman was given wings,
like an eagle,
and she flew away to her safe place.
Even when the dragon sent a river to sweep her away,
the earth opened up and helped her—
swallowing the water and protecting the Light.
So the dragon turned to others—
those who still carried the child’s light in their hearts—
but they were not afraid,
because love always wins.
