Revelation Chapter 4 — For Children and the Child Within
John looked up from his scroll.
The sky above him shimmered like soft water in the sun.
Then, he saw something…
a door—floating in the sky, glowing with golden light.
A voice, warm and bright, like a trumpet made of music, called to him:
“Come up here, and I will show you the heart of Heaven.”
In a flash, John’s spirit lifted.
He rose higher and higher,
past clouds, past stars, past anything he had ever known.
He entered through the door…
and what he saw made his heart feel like it was dreaming and awake at the same time.
There was a Throne in the center of everything.
Not a throne of stone, but one made of colors and light.
And sitting on the Throne was One who glowed like crystal and ruby,
surrounded by a rainbow that shone like an emerald sky.
Around the Throne were twenty-four smaller thrones,
with wise, gentle elders dressed in white robes and golden crowns.
And above them were seven burning lamps—
like stars made of Spirit.
In front of the Throne was a sea—
but not a sea of water.
It was clear like glass, glowing with peace,
as if the ocean itself had become still and holy.
Around the Throne were four living creatures.
They were not like anything John had seen before.
- One looked like a lion
- One like an ox
- One like a person
- And one like an eagle flying in the sky
They had wings full of eyes—eyes that saw everything.
They sang, day and night, without stopping:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,
who was, and is, and is to come!”
Every time the creatures sang,
the elders bowed down,
took off their golden crowns,
and placed them before the Throne.
They sang too:
“You are worthy, O God, to receive all praise,
for You created all things,
and by Your love, everything exists.”
And John stood in wonder.
Not afraid.
Not confused.
Just silent, with his heart full of the Light.
This was Heaven’s heart.
And it was calling all souls—children, grown-ups, and elders—
to return to their first home of Light.
