Revelation Chapter 9 — For Children and the Child Within
John stood in the heavens,
watching the angels with their trumpets.
The first four trumpets had already sounded—
bringing changes to the earth, the sea, the rivers, and the sky.
Now, the fifth angel lifted his trumpet…
And when he blew,
John saw a star fall from the sky—but it wasn’t a star like we know.
It was a messenger,
and in its hand was a key to open something hidden below.
The messenger unlocked a great deep place—
and smoke poured out, like from a giant chimney.
From the smoke came strange creatures that looked like flying locusts,
but they weren’t there to eat grass or trees—
they came to remind people to wake up,
to look within, and to listen to the Light again.
They made a buzzing sound like many wings,
and wore something like tiny crowns.
Their faces looked like people,
but they had forgotten who they were.
They weren’t allowed to hurt the earth—
only to trouble those who had forgotten the mark of God’s Love
on their foreheads.
But even then, they could only stay for a short time.
Their job was to shake the sleepers, not to destroy.
Then came the sixth trumpet.
And John heard a voice from the golden altar of Heaven.
It called out to release four angels who had been waiting
for this very hour, this very day.
And when they came,
they stirred up a vast movement across the world—
with fire and smoke and voices like thunder.
This wasn’t to punish,
but to purify—
like a fire that clears the forest
so new seeds can grow.
But many hearts still didn’t listen.
Even after all the signs,
many people still clung to fear,
to greed,
to forgetting their own Light.
They did not yet turn back to the Lamb,
or remember the voice inside that said:
“You are Mine. Come home.”
And John saw this and understood:
Sometimes the world must be shaken,
so that the soul can awaken.
And even the buzzing of the locusts
and the blast of trumpets
can become part of God’s great song of return.
